Title VI Lawsuits and Investigations Database
There has been a surge in civil rights lawsuits and government investigations related to Israel/Palestine and higher education since October 7, 2023. We track lawfare and investigations related to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to explore how federal pressure against institutions quells academic freedom and free speech.
Information about investigations comes from the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights public website and other public sources. This dataset documents all available complaint letters and tracks investigations and their outcomes.
